What we hold, and how to get rid of it.

Short, because we do not collect much. Everything below is what the software actually does, not what a template says.

Who we are

IOK-1 Ltd, trading as GolfScreen. Company number 17028312, registered at 3rd Floor, 86–90 Paul Street, London, EC2A 4NE. We are the data controller for the information described here.

What we collect

When you order: your name, email, phone number, delivery address, and the details of the screen you have specified. Card details go straight to Stripe and we never see them.

When you use the builder: the dimensions and options you enter, so we can draw and price the screen. We keep a record of what was configured — the size, the material, the edge finishes, the country and the price shown — so we can see what people actually need and stop guessing at it. That record carries no personal data at all unless you gave us some: no name, no address, and nothing that links it to anything you do on another day or on another site. If you ask us to email you a drawing, or you order, your details are attached to it, because at that point you have given them to us.

When you contact us: whatever you send us, and our reply. An enquiry from this site is not added to a customer list automatically — a person reads it first and decides.

When you ask for a free sample: your name, email, delivery address, and what you tell us about your venue — the company or venue name, what kind of place it is, and roughly how many bays. The address is used to post the swatch. The three questions about your venue are there so we know who is asking; you are not committing to anything by answering them.

Why we have it

To make and deliver your order. We cannot make a screen without your measurements or deliver it without your address. This is the contract between us.
To keep a record of your screen. We hold your drawing so that reordering is one line rather than measuring again, and so we can tell you when a replacement is likely due. This is our legitimate interest in serving customers well, and you can ask us to delete it.
To post you a sample, and to ask once whether it was any use. We keep your address for as long as it takes to post the swatch and follow it up, and the record of the request after that so we know what we sent and to whom. One email, seven days after it goes out, and only if you have not already configured a screen — there is no sequence and no list. This is our legitimate interest in following up something you asked us for, and you can ask us to delete it.
To answer you. If you email us, we keep the thread.
To meet our legal obligations. Order and payment records are kept for the period tax law requires.

We do not sell your data, and we do not send marketing you have not asked for. There is no list.

Who else sees it

Only the services we need to run the business:

Stripe — taking payment
Resend — sending order emails
Google — the address lookup at checkout and on the sample form
Shippo and couriers — printing labels and delivering
Supabase and Vercel — hosting the site and the database, and counting page views

Each of them only gets what they need. Some are outside the UK, in which case the transfer relies on the safeguards their own terms provide.

The factory that cuts your screen is sent the drawing and its number — never your name, your venue or your address. That is deliberate, and it is enforced in the software rather than remembered.

We may also share information where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

Order and payment records for six years, which is what tax law requires.

Your bay drawings and specification for as long as you are a customer, so reordering works. Ask us and we will delete them.

Enquiries that do not become orders: two years.

Your rights

You can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Email info@golfscreen.co.uk and we will respond within a month.

If you would rather stop the replacement reminders and keep everything else, say that instead and we will switch them off for your account.

If you are not happy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. We would rather you told us first.

Cookies

No cookie banner, because no cookies. We do not set advertising or tracking cookies. There is no ad network here, nothing from Meta, and no tag manager.

We do count how the site is used, in two ways, and here is exactly what each of them knows.

Vercel Analytics counts page views. It is cookieless — it puts nothing on your machine and cannot follow you off this site. It records which page you looked at, which country you are in, which browser you used and which site you arrived from. It does not store your IP address: what is kept is a hash of your address and browser, rotated daily, and we have no means of reversing it. Where a link we emailed you carries a code in it — the link to your order, or to a drawing to approve — the code is stripped out before anything is counted.

Our own funnel is the other, and it is smaller: your browser makes a random string for itself, keeps it in the tab and forgets it when you close it. It lets us join “somebody drew a screen” to “somebody saw a price” so we know whether the site works. Against that string we record no IP address, no browser, no cookie and nowhere you came from, and there is nothing to look it up against. It identifies nobody, including to us.

Your basket is kept in your own browser, on your own machine, and never reaches us until you check out. The record of what was configured is not linked to it, or to you — there is no cookie, and nothing kept on your machine survives the tab closing. Someone who draws a screen on Monday and buys on Thursday is two unconnected records to us, and we would rather that than the alternative.
